Mega Metroid X

Passion project completed. This started from a spontaneous sketch from back in December '12. I attacked it when I could between other obligations and a month later it's finally done. This painting shows the most depth I've ever attempted--here's hoping I keep up that trend- I wanted an environment that wouldn't seem out of place for either Samus or X so I went with a open ceiling cavey place. I used a high res photo of the Cave of Swallows for reference and it was probably the most challenging/fun part of the piece.

One metroid in particular is dedicated to my wife, Miss <3
